Bad form from for not crediting your sources.

Aug 20, 2012 at 10:36 am

Ian, that’s assuming it was’s decision, and not WBW? Clueless.

Aug 20, 2012 at 11:21 am

Nick usually credits all his sources, at least got their link in though right?

John Philips
Aug 20, 2012 at 3:40 pm

Let’s ask Nick then, Nick? Disappointing to see unfounded and incorrect statements from someone who frankly has no idea. Real shame.

Aug 21, 2012 at 3:15 am

John – Did you write the post or do you work for Your persistance would imply so.

To say I am “Clueless” & “frankly has no idea” is a rather crass comment from you considering my first comment.

I initially asked the post author to credit the designers/printers or galleries from which you took the business cards, as this would be helpful to the readers and respectful to the designers/print shops.

If I wanted to hire one of the designers or ask where they got their card pritned this would really help.

Cool list, I thought the old ID / Passport style card was kind of cool. I haven’t done any embossing myself. Any tips for setting up the file or little things to be aware of?

Over the years I’ve ordered dozens of business cards that were printed with less than expected quality. Last year my company printed some business cards with PCA Delta in Pompano Beach FL, and they were great. I’ve been printing with them ever since. If you need business cards printed go to I strongly recommend them.

Embossing adds a unique touch especially in a huge pile of business cards. I think the extra expense is justified. For a designer a great business card is a must.

I think Amex might have some trademark problems with that one card. Great collection.

Nice collection. Business card design truly showcases the way a designer can capture the essence of a company’s brand in a very small amount of space. At our company, Design Pax, we spend a lot of time understanding our clients’ visions so we can combine it with great web design that gets noticed – because really that’s what everyone wants at the end of the day – a business card too pretty to throw away – just like all these!

Great collection here. I think the embossed business card is not used enough. Perhaps due to the fact that you can get “plain” business cards printed so cheap. Not enough people embrace the added value and impact embossing can bring to a first impression.

Sep 20, 2012 at 6:42 am

very good collection

Dwight Zahringer

There are a lot of great options here. Should be pointed out that embossing can be expensive however the impact it leaves when given can turn around in the form of new customers very quickly.

I didn’t realise that I “needed” an embossed card but now I know I do. I know of someone who can do the printing but they will source cards in the UK. I have spots on my current cards that will look much better muted with texture.

Most of them are very good, some just alright, but the “MILK” one towards the end is just gorgeous! Typo + embossing + simplicity = SCORE

I’m always unsure about odd shaped business cards that go beyond traditional dimensions, they don’t fit in your wallet or in typical business card holders so they just become annoying if you’re doing trade shows or something and picking up loads of cards. That said, I love the Todd Lasher Design near the top, instantly felt architectural.
