I’m an interactive designer and developer for an ad agency, as well as a general techno-dweeb. I would love the opportunity to be a part of such a large design/tech event, and have a chance to collaborate with so many of my peers.

I would love to go to FITC

Apr 2, 2009 at 6:15 pm

I’m a student of die Graphische in Vienna / Austria with a passion in interactive content such as flash games. This ticket would be a great possability to meet international artists!

Apr 2, 2009 at 7:51 pm

I’m locked into a pure developer job and I’d like to some inspiration to get me designing outside of work again. It’s a been about a year drought and I don’t like it.

I’d love to get some serious inspiration. Lately I feel kind of bland about it!

Apr 2, 2009 at 7:59 pm

I’m a grad student re-entering a new marketplace soon; I’d love to be able to make some preliminary connections in this field before jumping right into the workplace this coming fall!

I’m a year into college and really need an extra push to dedicate a career to design and web. Otherwise I’m probably going to end up in something horrible like math or chemistry.

Apr 2, 2009 at 8:26 pm

Please donate a ticket to me! I’m an aspiring designer/student in Toronto and I’d love to go. It’d be my first conference, of any kind.

Looking to get back into web/flash design after a long drought in print!

Apr 2, 2009 at 8:54 pm

Starting my own graphic design business in a month. Let’s just say the start-up costs weren’t that cheap :)… This would give me the chance to network and gain insights on the industry. Located in Toronto!

Rommel Miraflores
Apr 3, 2009 at 2:21 pm

Why do I want to go? Well, I’m in Toronto, and this is an opportunity of a lifetime. Sometimes it’s difficult to arrange time to attend creative events, but I just happen to be available then. Sounds like fate.

Joshua Rapp
Apr 3, 2009 at 2:48 pm

Why do I want to go? Because I need to go, and be around other people. lol. Man is a social creature by nature. And I’m getting tired of spending time in front of my computer by myself in a dark room. lol. I think it would be amazing to get to go because I want to be around people of a like mind set and I’m a sponge when it comes to new information. Pick me. Please.

Apr 3, 2009 at 4:01 pm

Reasons why I want to go there haven’t changed since since the previous attempt ;) Hope I’ll be luckier this (last) time. Anyway, thanks to share this event with us !

Numero 49? Yay. hehe. It’s mah birthday! Seriously! And I can’t afford a FITC ticket. gahhh.

(maybe the random number picker could show some sympathy haha)

Apr 4, 2009 at 2:50 am

I volunteered a few years ago as a student to help out at the event, caught some of the presentations and absolutely but never got a proper experience. Here’s hoping this time I can go as an actual attendee.

Apr 4, 2009 at 3:08 am

Ever since i went to FITC amsterdam i’m hooked on it :( DO WANT.

Apr 4, 2009 at 5:43 am

It’d be a great opportunity to fly overseas and witness such a great event.

Apr 4, 2009 at 2:44 pm

I want to go to FITC because it’d be a great way to meet with other members in the design community in person and see their thoughts of the industry and see where it is headed in the future months/years.

Apr 4, 2009 at 3:10 pm

would love to go

Apr 4, 2009 at 5:17 pm

I’ve been interested in Flash for a while, espically 3D manipulation and real-time rendering. Thanks to James Acres, who has been giving me a ton of great information to get started and more familiar with all this stuff I am hoping to get some great contacts in the industry, make connections and most of all get inspired till my brain fries… I am a student and totally broke, even with a 30% discount I will not be able to go, since I will still have to pay for accommodations, food and transport. Winning one of those tickets would therefore be a charm to get further with my endeavor to become a Flash guru.

Good luck to all, no matter who wins those tickets it’ll be a blast!

Apr 4, 2009 at 8:21 pm

Apr 5, 2009 at 6:06 pm

I am a student in attending Seneca College for Digital Media Arts. Interested in web design and flash, learned a lot about flash in college and would love to experience FITC 2009 in Toronto. I have heard that FITC is a excellent event from my teachers in DMA.

I would love to go! I live for graphic design and my life turns around it. Being still a junior in this job, I feel that this experience would help me get to the next step. I love to get to know the latest trends, get new ideas from blogs, but some resources aren’t always online and that is why I need to go to FITC! I would also be looking foward to the great networking I will get from this event. And what about the list of speakers?! Wow, I need those tickets! Please please!

Apr 7, 2009 at 10:02 am

Gotta give it a try :P

Apr 7, 2009 at 10:23 am

Having spent the past 2 years as a Flash developer for one of the big 5 banks here in Canada, I would love the opportunity to broaden my knowledge and skill set.

Apr 7, 2009 at 3:35 pm

OMG! Listen, I was a volunteer at the event few years ago, (we had orange t-shirts). The event was awesome, I got a glimpse of some of the speakers, I wish I could afford to attend the event, (recent layoff). If you can afford it don’t miss it, and please give others a chance. I still managed to make contacts at the expo hall, great people, tons of info and quality event.

Good luck to me and you!!

Apr 8, 2009 at 3:52 pm

I need to get out of Seattle for a bit. Check out a new environment, get inspired, and talk to other designers.

Ivan Cruz
Apr 8, 2009 at 5:26 pm

I want to go there for two reasons, to expand my view of the design industry given that I’ve been working heavily on Motion Design for the past year, and the not so glamorous reason, I want to meet-up with people I haven’t seen in over a year.

Sara Wilde
Apr 8, 2009 at 6:34 pm

I unfortunately missed my chance to enter the contest for female designers to win tickets by making a video expressing why they should win…II didn’t know they had this until after the deadline passed!

So here I am, trying, begging, pleading to let me attend so there CAN be more female attendance there! That and I really want to step further away from print (which I’m currently in) and have some real adventures in web!

Cory Marazzo
Apr 8, 2009 at 7:33 pm

I am a recent graduate and our teachers told us about FITC and that our class could go but it fell through. Since then I have really wanted to go!

Apr 9, 2009 at 10:37 am

Going outside of the lines
Engages my mind.

Posting a comment
I want to write my ticket
Straight to Toronto.

Using some haiku
To embark on my journey
Into new design.

Through cold I will press
It’s Ontario or bust
To make me happy.

So please consider
For a lowly designer
This golden ticket.

I have always dreamt of going to a Flash Conference but being homeless I have a hard time scraping together the money. I can’t lie, I usually wast it on booze and woman but you can’t blame me? Being a homeless Flash Developer is hard! So please pick me and give a guy a break…

The reason is simple: my main passion is graphic design and illustration. I work on a lot of different projects and want to be a part of a great event such as FITC.

Inspiration, knowledge, networking and the general admiration for what the top of Digital Media World has to offer is what I want to gain from attending the conference.
It will be a amazing opportunity to be picked for the giveaway above.

I would love to attend FITC. Main reason.. Well you know how kids always say they want to a doctor, or a engineer, or spaceman, I always wanted to be an artist. For the longest time I wasn’t letting myself to work on my dream, mainly because all I herd my whole life is that I need to think about money and artists don’t make money. Now I’m 23 years old and I finally on my way to be who I always wanted to be. I chose Digital Media Design out of all art programs at colleges and currently finishing up my first year.
I’m very passionate about what I do and I love being inspired by works of others. A lot of artists don’t get recognized for amazing works they do and it has to be changed. And events like FITC make that change.

would LOVE to go. Stiffled at my job and this might just be the create boost that I need to get out of my funk. I just don’t have people or similar mindset to converse with here.

Being freelance and an office of one, FITC is a great chance to connect with like minded individuals. It would mean the world to me and a good way to shake off winter cabin fever forever! Everyone at the office agrees I should go!
