I have two last-minute meshU tickets to giveaway. Submit a comment in this post before Apr 1, 2009 for a chance to get a free ticket. MeshU is a one-day event of workshops on design, development, and management that will take place in Toronto, April 6th, 2009. Although I’ve never been to the meshU before, but the speaker/workshop list sounds very interesting. If you want to purchase the event tickets, it is not too late yet. Head over to the meshU website for more details.

Update: This contest is closed and the winners are: 34 and 65.

How to get a free ticket?

  • Post a comment in this post stating why you want to go.
  • One entry per person. Duplicate comments will be voided and deleted.
  • Winners will be contacted by email (so make sure your email address is correct).

Comment entries will be accepted until Apr 1, 2009. Then two winning numbers will be generated randomly from the comment list. Two winners will receive a free ticket to the meshU event.

Why I want to go: Well, Mesh sounds extremely interesting. This is actually the first time I have hear of this one. The list of speakers look extremely interesting and I have been looking up all the ones I have never heard of and have found a few new inspiring creative types. So, In short I just really really really want to go! Please help me.

Mar 26, 2009 at 8:21 am

Sounds like a great conference. Toronto is close by; I could get away for the day easily. Get me out of the office! Please!

Mar 26, 2009 at 8:30 am

I will likely add everyone I come in contact with to my LinkedIn profile :-)

Truthfully, though, this would be such a beautiful experience and a great inspiration to begin my freelance endeavor.

Keep up the great blog and design resource~

Mar 26, 2009 at 8:53 am

would be great to goto something like this, I live near Toronto, would be very convenient. :)

Mar 26, 2009 at 10:45 am

I’d love to go. I’m really glad they hold events like these in Canada, keep them coming!

Mar 26, 2009 at 11:02 am

I am a developer, I need this! Help a brother out!

Steven Haddox
Mar 26, 2009 at 11:02 am

As a developer, I too am in desperate need of any advice, guidance, trends, and best-practices when it comes to design. Sounds like a great opportunity to learn some of that!

Mar 26, 2009 at 11:17 am

Oh, wow … I’m a 1st year design student in the York/Sheridan program in design, and I’ve never had the opportunity to go to a workshop like this, although I’ve heard lots about them. Being able to go to one and expand my learning into areas that aren’t taught typically in design school could really expand my horizons. I’d love to be able to go :)

Mar 26, 2009 at 11:32 am

I’ll take 2!

Mar 26, 2009 at 11:48 am

Sign me up!

Mar 26, 2009 at 11:53 am

Mar 26, 2009 at 2:21 pm

Wow this would be amazing. I was able to get a ticket for the conference but when I went to get a (student) ticket for Mesh U they were all out.. I hope I win this. I think the Workshops would be even more educational then some of the speakers they have for the 2 day conference.

Thanks for the opportunity! And hopefully I’ll see you there.

Mar 26, 2009 at 2:44 pm

Just would love to go and see what is on the cutting edge of the web world. Nice idea- a blog contest.

Mar 26, 2009 at 2:52 pm

WOW – never been to a conference of this magnitude before – I’m currently developing a new venture utilisiing ‘open source software’. This would be totally amazing and rewally ground my overall aspects of graphics, UI and coding all in one place.. Good luck to everyone – but esp me :) cool site

Mar 26, 2009 at 3:09 pm

I’m looking to start doing more freelance and with business cards on the way it would be a great way to network with others and also learn a lot from the pros! I’ll take one!

Mar 26, 2009 at 3:23 pm

I’m just getting out of school and have a passion for web design. Getting out means no money, so I can’t afford something like this, but I feel it’ll give me the motivation I need for getting out there.

Mar 26, 2009 at 3:56 pm

I do contract web dev and am always looking to brush up my skills. The dev part of the conference seems pretty interesting. I’d love to hear the talk by the guy from github, but all of the dev really good. Would benefit anyone who went who was interested in web dev.

Mar 26, 2009 at 6:44 pm

I would love one!

Mar 26, 2009 at 6:47 pm

So I graduated from college last June, and ended up getting a job for a corporation as their web designer. As far as being able to spread my creative wings, it’s pretty much non-existent for me nowadays. So, I’m always looking for some sort of creative outlet, just a break from designing sites for credit card terminals.

Mar 26, 2009 at 8:47 pm

Cool Idea!

Mar 26, 2009 at 10:28 pm

What an ingenious idea – contest via blog.
I would definitely love to go as I have a keen interest in web design and am currently moving my career path towards it. I also have started to design & develop web sites for small companies and believe this would be a great chance for me to brush up on skills and certainly learn new ones!

Mar 27, 2009 at 10:44 am

That’s quite an interesting speaker list, it should be a great event.

I’d like to attend simply because the topics are ones that I’m very interested in and I know the workshops will benefit me greatly. Plus I plan on attending either way, so it would be nice to do so without any financial burden.

Mar 27, 2009 at 11:29 am

I’s really love to go to MeshU because lately I’m feeling a little short on inspiration… but also a little short on cash.

Mar 28, 2009 at 8:49 am

I’d absolutely love to attend, I can never afford these conferences or get my hands on student tickets early enough.

Mar 28, 2009 at 11:25 am

Mar 30, 2009 at 5:47 pm

I would love to go!

Currently my work has been uninspired and the work-place environment stifling. I could use a day to mingle with like minded people, and being away from the office for a day is always welcome!! This would do a great deal to put a couple good large chunks out of those mental blocks.

Mar 30, 2009 at 9:36 pm

This would be a great event to attend for personal projects and work.

Josue Salazar
Mar 30, 2009 at 10:42 pm

I forgot to say why I want to go…

For me it would be a great opportunity to learn new things at the workshops. I’ve been looking into meshu for a while and if I don’t get this ticket I’ll probably figure out another way to attend.
It seems like a great event and the Mesh Conference itself sounds dope.

Mar 31, 2009 at 5:54 am

i’m never lucky for such type of things but why not to try …. hoping to be lucky.May be the sun will rise for me in the coming days. :D lolo

Mar 31, 2009 at 11:00 am

The only thing better than the internet is sharing new ideas about the internet. OK, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration – nothing is better than the internet (I’m looking at you, world peace).

Mar 31, 2009 at 12:30 pm

I’m a young web designer and I would love to go to this event for web designers. I’ve started my little company this years and I think it would be a great experience for me. :)

Mar 31, 2009 at 2:48 pm

Mar 31, 2009 at 7:56 pm

Long time reading and a first time commenter throwing my name into the hat.
I’d love an opportunity to meet and talk with some of the local designers in Toronto. Never had the funds to attend a conference but what a great way to start off in my hometown.
Good luck to everyone and thanks for the contest Nick.
