To compete with thousands of iPhone apps in the App Store, having a good app icon is not enough. A nicely designed website for the app is very important. A beautiful website helps to drive traffic in and also makes your app stand out from the crowd. This post showcases a gallery of appealing iPhone app sites and common design trends that I see.
One-Page Format
Almost every app sites are designed in a one-page format with a short descriptive paragraph and a feature list. The writing style is usually simple and straight to the point.
iPhone Image
You probably notice that all app sites use the iPhone image (with either drop shadow or reflection) as their main design element.
Apple App Store Badge
Most app sites prefer to use the App Store badge as the download button. The badge directs the visitors to download the app at the App Store.
Animated Screenshots
All app sites display their app screenshots on the iPhone. Some sites enhance the user experience by displaying automatic slideshow or animation that shows exactly how the app works. With the animation demo, visitors can quickly find out what the app is all about without reading the text. It also makes the site look more entertaining.
Display Pricing
Not all app sites are displaying their price tag, which I think they all should do. It is frustrating when you want to buy something but can't find the price. Below are some good examples of websites that display the pricing for the app. I find the best spot to place the price tag is by the download badge or the app screenshot.
Important: Identity Guidelines for Developers
If you are planning to use the Apple App Store badge or iPhone image, don't forget to read the Identity Guidelines for Developers first. Apple reserves the right to withdraw permission to use the badge or iPhone image if you fail to follow the guidelines.

Wonderful info shared… Cheers for that. I am a Web Designer in London & yes would share it on with others too.
Thanks for pointing out the identity guidelines, I’ve talked to a few iphone app design pros who didn’t even know these guidelines existed and hadn’t bothered to follow them. Talk about hard work down the drain if you design an app and it doesn’t get approved!
Availability of new, professional, custom designed web site will help increase sales and expose you to thousands of new customers.
Web Application Development
Amazing Blog!
For last 3 months I’m creating my own iPhone apps on http://seattleclouds.com. These trends described on this blog are great. I will create pages in this style and I will promote my apps in this way. Thank you!
I always follow your site thank you
With havin so much content do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright violation? My site has a lot of exclusive content I’ve either authored myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my agreement. Do you know any solutions to help reduce content from being ripped off? I’d certainly appreciate it.
verry good
I’d certainly appreciate it.
Try Onde Screen Capture for Mac ( http://www.ondesoft.com/screencapture/index.html ). This Mac grabbing utility for Mac enables you to capture a circular region by clicking “Rectangular” while pressing Command. It is very easy.

This is a great post; it was very informative. I look forward in reading more of your work. Also, I made sure to bookmark your website so I can come back later. I enjoyed every moment of reading it. I admit, I have not been on this webpage in a long time… however it was another joy to see It is such an important topic and ignored by so many, even professionals. I thank you to help making people more aware of possible issues. Great stuff as usual…
I agree a nicely designed website helps improve sales of iPhone Apps. It must have a compelling description, excellent responsive design and a nice designed link button
