To compete with thousands of iPhone apps in the App Store, having a good app icon is not enough. A nicely designed website for the app is very important. A beautiful website helps to drive traffic in and also makes your app stand out from the crowd. This post showcases a gallery of appealing iPhone app sites and common design trends that I see.
One-Page Format
Almost every app sites are designed in a one-page format with a short descriptive paragraph and a feature list. The writing style is usually simple and straight to the point.
iPhone Image
You probably notice that all app sites use the iPhone image (with either drop shadow or reflection) as their main design element.
Apple App Store Badge
Most app sites prefer to use the App Store badge as the download button. The badge directs the visitors to download the app at the App Store.
Animated Screenshots
All app sites display their app screenshots on the iPhone. Some sites enhance the user experience by displaying automatic slideshow or animation that shows exactly how the app works. With the animation demo, visitors can quickly find out what the app is all about without reading the text. It also makes the site look more entertaining.
Display Pricing
Not all app sites are displaying their price tag, which I think they all should do. It is frustrating when you want to buy something but can't find the price. Below are some good examples of websites that display the pricing for the app. I find the best spot to place the price tag is by the download badge or the app screenshot.
Important: Identity Guidelines for Developers
If you are planning to use the Apple App Store badge or iPhone image, don't forget to read the Identity Guidelines for Developers first. Apple reserves the right to withdraw permission to use the badge or iPhone image if you fail to follow the guidelines.

Learning
That Tea Round App looks amusing – with we had that in the office I used to work in!
I would buy all of them just because they have great sites!
a+ graphics!
Loving this post has given me lots of new ideas for my future apps!
So happy that you guys like Finger! I am Bill – developer of Finger. I really have to thank the gang @ Beansbox who design the interface and advice on the user experience!
should have added some well-designed iPhone game sites on this post.
Thanks for this great overview. For our TXXI App we also managed to blend the Android App in our product page. We used the black HTC Hero: TXXI
Some good quality design elements in these, I think we all need to take a part of the iPhone product designs into our own work as these really show great quality.
I have an article on my blog about iPhone Splash Screens which goes well with this topic. Let me know if I can drop it in here?
not quite up to this standard, but we think we ticked most boxes
Well, since everyone is doing some shameless self promotion, why shouldn’t I? I’ve made a good looking (if I may say so myself) iPhone website template free to download. I think you guys may like it.

Great post.
Another common element are testimonials or reviews of the app on the website.
great examples!
I would have nedded a tilted / 3d version of the iphone for http://www.liscon.com but didn’t find any. Even every example here is just 2d from the front but not 3d like at apple’s site. Anyone suggestions how to accomplish a view from the side of the iphone like over here, even if it doesn’t seem perfect http://www.apple.com/iphone/ ? what’s your opinion about that?
Apple’s Identity Guidelines are an interesting read. It’s no surprise that they’re strict to the point of absurdity.
“The Apple-provided iPhone image can be displayed only on a white background. Do not place the iPhone image on a black background or on any color or pattern.”
Excellent post, didn’t know a couple of apps you showcased, thank you!
I’ve written a similar post on my blog, about 70 iPhone apps with the best UIs so far, would be happy if you take a look: http://mcstr.es/t/g
Cheers!
Beautiful. Very good collection. Thanks
Nice list… Pretty Poo made me smile. :)
O.o interesting, would be better if I had an iPhone X3
Some lovely iphone trends, kinda of predictable with most apps. deep sigh!
Man, what a great post! Really enjoyed seeing what everyone has been using. I have a feeling like this is going to be a trending topic for a while.
very helpful. Thanks.
