Well a bit long guys! I think there is maximally 5 great websites. The others looks as waste of time. Maybe next time you can pick up just 2 or 3 of them and make some interview with recruit specialist for design (particularly web design) so other fellows will know how to prepare portfolio and CV, Covering letter etc. It’s a long way to get right job.
Please if you’ll have a time check another article about portfolio at Life Clever from Eric Spiekerman. Interesting stuff.

Thanks for the long list! I’m always a bit wary of paying to apply for the jobs though on these types of sites. (which is why I like your job board…free to look and apply!)

This is a brilliant list! Two weeks ago I lost my job and ever since then have been looking for a job.

With the extra time I have I’ve been focusing a lot harder on school and trying to find some kind of income (looking for design related jobs). This list is a great list and hopefully every designer will find it useful!

JobZoneUSA is a pretty cool site they offer a lot of links to stuff along with a full feed of jobs based on your location.

I got a temp job doing computer installs off of that site.

what I usually used to use were:
1. Craigslist (and little hint – try different cities and maybe even countries. rest assured you’ll find quite a lot of job offers)
2. freelance sites like elance.com or getafreelancer.com
both worked really well.

You can find contract and permanent PHP jobs in the UK at http://www.phpjobs.co.uk/. It’s free for recruiters and companies to post new PHP jobs and therefore contains many vacancies that don’t make it to the large-scale job boards.

there’s a good list of job sites here, some that i’ll be checking out. the downside to some of these sites is that you need to go through a lengthy registration or bid to compete. a good site that allows you to get contact the employer directly is http://www.push1.com/freelance/
