The Future of Web Design (FOWD) is returning to New York City on 16th & 17th of November! If you haven't heard of FOWD, it's a conference which brings together the web industry's leading designers and delivers two days of workshops and talks from the likes of Dan Cederholm, Jason Santa Maria, Molly Holzschlag, Joshua Davis, Vimeo and lots more. I’d love to hear what some of the more experienced members of the web design community have to say, but mostly I think this would be a great networking event to meet some other like minded designers and share ideas.
I’ve only been officially doing this for a couple of years, I still feel like I’m missing a lot, maybe they’ll tell me something at the conference that will help me make it to that next level. :)
I am planning on starting a business as a webdesigner, attending this event would certainly be a big leap forward for me in my quest to learn and grow as a webdesigner.
Hello. Here’s some backstory: I am a designer in an ad agency in the philly area which has only recently begun to shift away from direct mail and into digital media. Many of the ‘old hats’ who run the agency are still blown away by bursts and gradients and flash 7. Whenever I try to tout the merits of WP, CSS, Coldfusion, etc – I’m mercilessly bludgeoned with “just do what the f— we tell you.” a la J. Jonah. Jameson. I cannot get my bosses to shell out the money to upgrade from CS2, let alone attend a conference on the future of web design, which I love to learn.
Please support this technologically- malnourished designer.

There aren’t a lot of web conferences in Alabama, where I’m working–it would be amazing to get to go!
I’m always thrilled when FOWD comes to NYC. Not only does the conference inspire web designers & developers, but it’s also a great place to network and meet others that share the same goals.
Having attended FOWA in London, I’d really like to see what FOWD is all about. And hey, it’s in NY.
It’s an amazing opportunity to hear from the leaders of the web design industry, as well meet and chat with peers, which is not something I get much of a chance to do. I was always a bit too intimidated to go, but if given this opportunity for a free ticket I would definitely take advantage and finally attend!
